What’s So Special About 64 Hz?
Sometimes, a number on a tuning fork is more than just a number.
I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Alisha Bee, our 2025 Sound & Energy Healer of the Year, and I absolutely loved where our conversation took us.
We talked about how Alisha discovered sound and energy healing, how her practice has evolved, and what this work means to her today.
But one part of our conversation really stood out to me:
The weighted 64 Hz tuning fork.
At first glance, 64 Hz might just look like another frequency printed on a tuning fork.
But for Alisha, this particular frequency carries a much deeper personal meaning.
There’s a beautiful story behind why the 64 Hz weighted tuning fork has become such a meaningful tool in her practice—and I’m not going to give that part away. :)
I think you should hear it directly from Alisha.
And as if that wasn’t interesting enough, shortly after our conversation, two questions came in from our own community where the 64 Hz weighted tuning fork may have been a potential tool to explore.
So, apparently, there’s a little curiosity around this particular fork right now!
And it got us thinking: What is it about 64 Hz that makes it so interesting?

Exploring the 64 Hz Frequency
When working with sound, frequencies can become meaningful in different ways depending on the practitioner, the intention behind the work, and the individual experience of the person receiving it.
The 64 Hz weighted tuning fork is a low-frequency fork, and its weighted design allows the vibration to be felt as well as heard.
For sound and energy practitioners, that physical sensation can become an important part of a session.
Rather than simply listening to a tone, you can become more aware of the vibration and resonance created by the fork.
And that’s part of what makes lower-frequency weighted forks so interesting to explore.
A Little Frequency Connection
Here’s a fun detail to keep in mind:
32, 64, and 128 Hz are all related by doubling.
32 → 64 → 128
In sound work, frequencies that are related by doubling are known as octaves. They share a close mathematical relationship, even though they are heard at different pitches.
So when you come across 64 Hz, you’re not looking at an isolated number. It sits within a broader family of related frequencies.
And that can open up another way of thinking about how we work with sound.

Why Does 64 Hz Matter to You?
Of course, the most interesting part of any sound-healing tool is not simply the number printed on it.
It’s how you experience it.
For Alisha, 64 Hz has become an especially meaningful frequency in her own journey with sound and energy healing.
And hearing her story is a beautiful reminder that our relationship with sound can be deeply personal.
Sometimes a particular frequency simply resonates with us—literally and metaphorically.
So the next time you see a little 64 Hz weighted tuning fork, you might look at it a little differently.
It may be more than just a number.
It may be an invitation to listen, explore, feel, and discover what that frequency means within your own practice.
And if you’re curious about why 64 Hz became so special to Alisha, you’ll definitely want to hear the conversation.
Now you may never look at that little tuning fork quite the same way again. ✨
